Save YouTube Videos Without Downloading

YouTube is a great place to watch your favorite videos online. After watching a video on YouTube you wish to save it. So you go to desired YouTube downloader and download it. This method will consume your time and data. But there is some work around that will let you save the video that you have watched. This work around will save your time and bandwidth. This only works with Google chrome.

Behind the scenes when we play video online:

Every YouTube user is aware of buffering. So what is this buffering? Buffering is nothing but the loading of video in your local storage cache. So whenever you play video online, it first gets stored to your local cache and then gets played. So our work is to find out this stored file and then copy it computer’s hard drive.

Click And Clean Chrome Extension :

Click and clean is Google chrome extension that perform various task such as task manager, Disk Cleanup, Scan for Malware and history etc. As we are interested in saving video, we will focus on cache.  Get this extension for Google chrome and add it. Now whenever you finished watching video on YouTube, click on Click and clean and select chache. It will then start scanning temporary storage. Once finished scanning it will show cashed video file that can be saved to your computer. This tool only enlists the video files that are cashed as single file. It will not show the files that are downloaded and stored in chunks. Grab the name of the file from cache and navigate to following path :

C:->Users->currently logged user name->App data->Google->chrome->userdata->Default->cache

Once you navigate to this path, copy the file name that we have copied from cache,and paste it in search box and search for it. After locating this file copy it and paste it in desired location and name it to anything.mp4 (note : you need to override the file extension to mp4 to flv).
Now you will be able to play your video locally on your computer without having to download it and without spending extra bandwidth. Cheers…..
